INTRODUCE OF PET TOUGHENING AGENT

PET toughening agents are typically elastomers or toughening polymers (such as polyolefins and specialty copolyesters) with moderate compatibility with the PET matrix. Their functions are to:
Increase the toughness of PET steel strips, reduce cracking, and improve impact resistance.

FUNCTION

When PET plastic-steel strapping is subjected to external impact or tension, the toughening agent particles act as "stress concentration points," inducing numerous tiny, hairline cracks (called "crazing") in the surrounding PET matrix. These crazing themselves does not develop into destructive cracks; instead, it effectively absorbs and dissipates the impact energy, making the finished PET plastic-steel strapping stronger and more durable.

PET thickening particles are divided into:

First-grade material-----average viscosity 0.70-0.74,

Second-grade material------average viscosity 0.68-0.70,

Third-grade material------average viscosity 0.70-0.75

Can be added according to different requirements.
